Throw A Spray Tan Party

The trendiest party you can throw this summer is a Spray Tan party! Forget sitting in the sun all day, you can get a tan in 5 minutes in the A.C. while sipping on wine. Why not grab your friends and turn it into a party. No need to worry about the weather or about getting a sunburn. We asked owner Anthony Cortes of Trend Studios for some advice on achieving the perfect spray tan, not too orange not too pale, just perfectly sun kissed.

Skin Preparation Before

Preparing for your EVOLV spray tanning session can be done in a few easy steps:

1. Exfoliate and shave the day before or the day of your spray tan. We sell a great scrub that work against the spray tan and cleans it off the skin completely before your tan!
2. The day of your tan, try not to use moisturizers, perfumes or lotions because it may create a barrier between your skin and the tan.
3. Shower the night before.
4. Don’t apply lotion or perfumes. We try to tell the clients to not wear anything on their skin before their tan. It creates a barrier between the skin and the tan.

Post Spray Tan Advice

Cortes recommends you wear loose fit clothing to your appointment so you avoid that blotchy tan look. When it comes to making it last longer, “Just like a natural tan, moisturizing everyday is the best way to keep the tan lasting longer. The EVOLV Daily Glo works really well to keep the tan lasting longer. The daily glo moisturizer also has a small amount of tanner in it so it’s a great addition to the spray tan.”

When it comes to spraying your face Cortes says it’s completely up to you, “I would say 90% of the clients do want their face sprayed. I usually ask the clients if they wear bronzer when they do their make up before I spray their face. If they do wear bronzer, I usually spray the face lightly.”

Will You Turn Orange?

“The EVOLV air brush machine will NEVER come out orange. I customize each color by adding sun kiss red tints and bronzers to give it that natural tan. You get that ‘I just got back from the Caribbean color’ in 10 minutes,” says Cortes.
